TEHRAN — National Petrochemical Company (NPC) production will hit 15 million tons by March 2007, the NPC reported here on Wednesday.

This indicates a threefold rise in production over the past 15 years.

Also, by March 2007, the company’s exports are projected to reach $2.9 billion, which will be an eightfold rise over the past 15 years.

In addition, domestic consumption of petrochemical products is expected to touch 6.5 million tons by March 2007.

NPC is currently producing 67 types of petrochemical products. The state-owned company is affiliated to the Oil Ministry and responsible for the development and operation of the country's petrochemical sector.
